Kenner's Gargoyles figures followed Disney's cartoon about a clan of gargoyle warriors from 10th-century Scotland who wake up on a New York skyscraper. Series 1 in 1995 gave Goliath six different versions on his own, Series 2 brought stone and storm finishes plus the only Elisa Maza figure, and the Hard-Wired wave finished the line off in 1996. The gargoyles fly, so the cartoon had little need for cars, but Kenner made vehicles anyway: the Rippin' Rider Cycle, the Night Striker and the Xanatos XI-44 Roadster, sold with a Xanatos figure.

Series 2 from 1996 repainted the clan in stone camo, ice and rain finishes, armoured Goliath up as a griffin and a minotaur, and made the only Elisa Maza figure Kenner ever released. Collectors rate this wave above the first.

Hard-Wired was the last Kenner Gargoyles wave, from 1996. Goliath, Lexington, Broadway and Xanatos got high-tech makeovers, and cyborg Coldstone, already half machine in the cartoon, finally got a figure.

Already a cyborg on screen, rebuilt from three fallen gargoyles, Coldstone needed the least changing for the Hard-Wired look.
